Wicklow 1916 Easter commemorations

Wicklow éirígí and the Seamus Costello Memorial Committee will be holding their annual Co. Wicklow 1916 Easter commemoration in Bray on Saturday April 19, 2014.

The commemoration will assemble at 1pm at the 1798 plaque on Castle Street and marching to St Peters Cemetery in Little Bray.

The event will be chaired by éirígí local election candidate Sean Doyle and the guest speaker will be socialist republican activist Dick O’Carroll who is the grandson of 1916 martyr Cllr Richard O’Carroll.

Following this event there will be a Wreath laying at the 1798 garden in Newtownmountkennedy, Co. Wicklow at 3:30pm with a social function in the Townhouse.

Bray: Assemble at the 1798 plaque on Castle St at 1pm and march to Seamus Costello’s graveside, Guest Speaker Dick O’Carroll.

Newtown: 3:30pm, Assemble at 1798 garden for wreath-laying.

Followed by craic, ceol agus caint in the Townhouse.

Wear an Easter lily with pride and honour.
