Kilcoole 5-6 Avoca 2-14

Kilcoole are the new Intermediate camogie champions after a fascinating final in Arklow on Saturday, the girls in green got off to a flying start when Niamh Donnelly scored a goal in the opening minutes Avoca were quick to reply with a point but lighting struck twice as Kilcoole added another goal .

Kilcoole limited Avoca to shots from outside the 40 metre line and when they did manage to open up the defence they had to face Kilcoole's in form Nicky Keddy, the sides traded points before Kilcoole struck again with another goal.

Kilcoole took a half time lead of 4-3 to 1-8 Avoca knew they were in trouble as the second half got underway, Liz Fahy and Tanya McDonald attacked the Kilcoole goal and with ten minutes left on the clock were in the lead by one point after Fahy had smashed a ball to the back of the Kilcoole net Avoca had got into their stride and looked like they would be county champions with the score at 2-13 to 4-6 and time running out.

Kilcoole had one last throw of the dice when Mairead Berkery watched her lobbed shot sail into the net with only minutes left, Avoca attacked once more and scored a point from the puck out Keddy who was now playing out the field was fouled, as she took the free ref Pat Hickey blew the final whistle.

County chairman David Murray presented the trophy to Kilcoole captain Celina O'Toole, who thanked everyone who had helped the club but most of all Billy Burke who made the girls believe they could win the championship.

U-13 Knockananna 4-4 Glenealy 0-2

In the curtain raiser to county final day Knockananna took on Glenealy in a keenly contested game Knockananna took an early lead with a goal before adding two points Glenealy got their only score of the half on the stroke of half time.

Glenealy started the second half with the wind in their backs and started to put the Knockananna defence under pressure but could not break them down Knockananna added 3 goals and two points in the second half but Glenealy never gave up.

U-17 Knockananna 4-14 Annacurra 3-1

Knockananna took home their second piece of silverware of the day when the U-17 had a convincing win over Annacurra leading by 3-9 to no score at the break they took their foot off the pedal and were caught cold as Annacurra scored three goals without reply in the opening minutes of the second half.

Knockananna got going again and scored 1-5 without reply.
