Wicklow Branch Events February 2012.
Saturday 4th February: Wicklow County Bird Race (see newsletter for more info).
Sunday 5th February: World Wetlands Day visit to East Coast Nature Reserve. Meet at main entrance at 10am.
Thursday 16th February: "Great Spotted Woodpecker: a welcome new dimension to Irish Woodlands" talk by Dick Coombes. Lee's Pub, Kilcoole at 8pm.
Saturday 18th February: Gull identification workshop at Arklow Town. Meet at River Walk car park, near Reilly's Bridge at 10am.

Giggles for Geese: BirdWatch Ireland have teamed up with the Laughter Lounge, Dublin to put on a fundraiser for the Greenland White-fronted Goose on Thurs 23rd February.

World Wetlands Day: The 2nd February each year is World Wetlands Day. It marks the date of the adoption of the Convention on Wetlands in 1971, in the Iranian city of Ramsar on the shores of the Caspian Sea.
World Wetlands Day will be celebrated this year in Ireland with the launch of a new wetlands website at County Building, Wicklow Town at 11:00am, Thursday 2nd February. The meeting will feature special guest Éamon de Buitléar & will be followed up by a nature walk hosted by BirdWatch Ireland.
