Work on the re-alignment was flagged by politicians to start in November in conjunction with the Newlands Cross project. We are into November and there is no sign of anything happening. How many times has this been postponed, and how many lives have been lost during these postponements.

came upon accident just minutes after it occured. Saw the poor man lying on the road and assumed he was either dead or in a bad way. The saddest thing i saw was the man's lunch thrown from the lorry onto the road. there was a doctor at the scene. My sympathies to his family and may he R.I,P. Jane

The number of vehicles using this stretch of road daily in the year 2000 was 10,500.The figures last year were 18500 vehicles, which should be enough evidence that the Rathnew to Arklow road improvement scheme needs to be fast tracked. My thoughts are with the family of the deceased tonight.
