Girl receives injuries in Arklow

Gardai and emergency services attended an incident in Arklow this afternoon where a girl received injuries.
The incident happened at Old Chapel Ground at the bottom of the town. The girl who was injured is believed to be in her 20's.
Two men have been arrested for public order offences.
It has been confirmed by the Gardai that the girl did receive injuries, however earlier reports of the girl being stabbed were not true.

What is the world coming to? Getting stabbed in the middle of the day and in Arklow, it's just terrible. God I hope the girl is ok. Hope whoever done this get's what's coming to him.

shocking. this is near ,where i was reared and walked freely, with no fear. sad to see arklow come to this. i do hope the girl is going to be ok. and that the person who done this gets his just rewards. like a long jail term

What use would armed gardaí be? There's no patrol down there anyway. A better use of public funding would be an A&E in the town.

how would armed guards stop that happening? is there no crime in the states? they have guns! maybe what needs to be addressed is the dependence and abuse of both legal and illegal substances in this town. week in week out consistantly theres drink related incidents but the issue is glossed over time and time again. we need to stand up, take responsibilty, and admit that the town has a major substance abuse problem
