Arklow mayor Peter Dempsey with the 25,000 signatures

Mayor of Arklow Peter Dempsey said "The ball is in Bus Eireann's court." following a meeting with Arklow town council.

25,000 signatures were presented to Bus Eireann representatives Joe Kenny and David Lane at the meeting.

Town councillors told Bus Eireann that they had been let down by the company and the service is now all over the place with buses not stopping at once prominent stops.

Dempsey described the meeting as unsatisfactory and will meet with Wexford bus this week to see if a service would be supported and be viable.

It is understood the services are now down to eight a day and only stopping a half the stops.

It seems to be dependent on the driver! daughter was going direct to work from college last Friday (as we at funeral in Dublin) she had all her bags and was just in time for work Driver refused to let her of at Johnboys stop - where she normally gets off and brought her into middle of the town despite her pleading with him - yet other buses stop here randomly it seems! Hurry up with getting Wexfrd bus online....badly needed

It is ludicrous. The purpose of a bus service (one would think) is pick up and drop off passengers. Since Bus Eireann have decided otherwise please do everything as soon as possible to give full freedom of service to the Wexford bus who have in the past gone to great lengths to serve their passengers.
