Update - Childrens medical records stolen in Bray car theft recovered by Gardai

By WicklowNews.net,

Medical records belonging to four children with special needs that were stolen during a car theft in Bray have been recovered.

The theft happened at around 3:40pm yesterday afternoon when a silver Opel Saphira was taken from the Florence Road in Bray Town.

Local woman, Eileen O'Toole, the car’s owner, was in Smyth’s Toy Shop at the time that CCTV footage captured a man driving away in her vehicle.

Among the items in the car when it disappeared were specialised equipment for the four children with Autism and Cerebal Palsey, including an adapted pushchair, computer devices and clothing – all of which are still missing.

However when the Gardaí found the stolen vehicle earlier today the medical records and a car restraint were in it.

Ms O’Toole told East Coast News the authorities believe her car was targeted for gardening equipment that had been visible in the car's boot.

A disgrace. I'm sure with media coverage the thieves will somehow return the special needs equipment.
