Explosion in Rathnew not caused by gas

An Bord Gais confirmed today that the cause of the explosion in Rathnew last night at was not caused by gas.
The explosion took place at an apartment in the Wilton manor estate at around 6 o'clock.
It was first thought the explosion was caused by a gas leak but investigators today found the cause of the blast. It is understood to have been caused by a pressurized container
Residents were evacuted from their homes last night as a precaution and the gas was switched off .
