Result - Hickey 21 Coughlan 5
The all-Wicklow fight ended in success for Grangecon boxer Ross Hickey. Hickey went in as favourite and got stronger as the fight progressed to easily retain his title.

69Kg: (Welterweight) Adam Nolan (Bray) v John Joe Joyce (St Michaels Athy)

Result - Nolan 17 Joyce 15
Oulart man Adam Nolan coached by Katie Taylor's father Peter also retained his welterweight title despite a late fight back from Beijing Olympian John Joe Joyce. Adam is a Garda stationed in Bray and fights for Bray Boxing Club.

Ross Hickey and Adam Nolan now travel to Trabzon in Turkey for a final chance to qualify for the London Olympics at a qualification tournament which commences on April 23rd.
