Residents Association
The residents Associations are holding their Annual General Meeting in the Parish Centre on Wednesday 22nd February at 8pm. Now is a chance to make a difference in your area.
Crib Donation
The proceeds from the Church Crib this year amounted to €412. These monies will be donated to Camphill Community, Grangebeg. Thanks to all who supported this cause.
Death
Sympathy is extended to the Dowling family Colbinstown on the death of Breda Dowling. Breda who was predeceased by her husband James is mourned by her sons Dermot and Colm, daughter-in-law Tina, grandchildren Eoin and Meabh relatives and friends. Breda’s funeral took place in Dunlavin on Tuesday February 14th 2010. Celebrant was Rev Douglas Malone. May Breda rest in peace.
Dunlavin GAA
Dunlavin GAA registration night will take place on March 6th from 6.30pm to 8pm. All are welcome. Night for under 6, 8, 10, hurlers and footballers and under 12 footballers, €20 per child or €50 for 3 or more children.
Community Games
Dunlavin Community Games Art and Clay Modelling finals will take place on February 25th from 11am to 1pm. Admission €2.
Creative Writing
A meeting will be held in Meitheal on February 25th 2012 at 11am with a view to setting up a creative writing class. The meeting will be facilitated by Paddy O’ Byrne. All are welcome.
Short Story Competition
Entries are now being accepted for the Festival of Arts Annual Short Story competition. The closing date is April 1. Maximum word count 2000 per story. Entry fee €5 per story. Name and address on separate sheet. Entries to Florence Grace, Rathsallagh, Dunlavin, Co. Wicklow.
Festival Of Arts
A meeting will take place on February 27th at 8pm in Camphill Community Hall. Anyone interested in getting involved in the 30th festival is invited to attend.
Death
Dunlavin residents were shocked to learn of the sudden death of Ellen Carty during the week. Ellen who was formerly Humphries(Stratford) is mourned by her daughter Liz, sons Johnny, Dave and Stephen, brothers Ted, Tom and Charlie, grandchildren, relatives and friends. Ellen’s funeral took place in Dunlavin on Friday February 10th 2012. Rev Douglas Malone was the celebrant. The GAA club provided a guard of honour. May Ellen rest in peace.
Credit Union Quiz
The winners of the annual Credit Union Quiz were Under 11 Conor Mahony, Hannah Bevan, Melissa McDaid and Amy Switzer. Un 13 M.J. Moran, Conor Deering, Eoin McGonagle and Alana Barber. Well done to every one, these two teams will go on to represent Dunlavin at the next round in Chapter 7.
Culture Bus
20 fans of the Beatles travelled to the Tivoli Theatre last week for the Musical Get Back the story of the Beatles. A very enjoyable night was had by all.
Table Quiz
Donard /Glen Camogie club will hold a table quiz in Dunlavin Inn at 9.30pm on Saturday March 10th. Your support would be appreciated.
Imaal Hall AGM
The Imaal Hall AGM will take place in the hall on Monday February 27th 2012 at 8pm. The committee urgently need new committee members and also people to help with the Bingo on Saturday night.

Traditional Irish Night
County Wicklow Cardiac First Responders are holding a Traditional Irish Music night on March 16th in Rathsallagh Golf Club. Music will be provided by Niall’s Lakeside Trad Group. Seanachi Jim Kearney. Tickets will be on sale in the Post Office and from the First Responders at €10.
Tea Party
The parents association of Scoil Nicholas Naofa are holding a tea party on March 18th in the Imaal Hall. Tickets are on sale in the school at €20. Music by the very popular group 2 Guys Live.
Midlands Support Group
Midlands Support Group-For Family and Friends Affected by Suicide. Our confidential support group, recently established in conjunction with HOPE(D) welcomes people from all areas in Kildare/ West Wicklow.
We meet the first Wednesday of every month at Aras Building (beside Fas) Main Street Newbridge at 8pm.Our aim is to connect with people where members can share experiences, advice or just listen providing sympathetic understanding towards one another.
For people who have lost a loved one to suicide and would like to connect with others who have gone through the same experience please feel free to come along. Please do not hesitate to contact Jacinta on 0872229695 should you require more information.

Community First Responders
Wicklow Cardiac Community First Responders are training new recruits on the weekend of Saturday and Sunday 25th and 26th of February 2012. The closing date for applications was February 10th. The training will take place in Germaine’s Baltinglass.

Dunlavin Inn Golf Society
The society welcomes new members. The first outing in 2012 will take place on February 25th to Athy Golf Club.
Friendship Club
The friendship club has recommenced. They meet in the parish centre every Friday afternoon. If there is anyone who has a talent with crafts that they would like to share with the group please contact the parish office 045/40187.
Used Postage Stamps
Please keep you used postage stamps from your Christmas cards for St Patrick’s Missions Kiltegan who can use them to fundraise. Used stamps can be dropped into the parish office anytime. Thanks to all who have donated stamps over the past years.

A night at the dogs is being held in aid of the Kildare branch of Down
> Syndrome in Newbridge on Saturday 25th February.
Bingo
Bingo takes place in the Imaal Hall every Saturday night at 9pm. The funds raised by the Bingo go towards the upkeep of the Imaal Hall and well worth supporting.
Library Opening Hours
Dunlavin library opening hours are as follows Tuesday 6.30pm to 8.30pm, Wednesday 3pm – 5pm and 6.30 –8.30pm, Friday 11am –1pm and 3pm to 5pm, Saturday 11am -1pm. Closed on the Saturdays of Bank Holiday weekends.
