Aughrim Juvenile GAA

Aughrim Juvenile club commenced a 3 week programme of indoor hurling blitzes on Saturday morning last in the fabulous sports complex.

The U-8 hurlers of Aughrim were first up with teams invited from Tinahely and the Arklow Rocks. The three teams were evenly matched throughout and all gave a fine display of skill and determination.

The Aughrim Team on the day was: Calum McKenna, Aoife Connolly, Patrick Leccardi, Shauna O' Shea, Kyle Byrne, Sam Carroll, Mark Shannon and Jack Morris.

A number of other players were away on holiday. The team played fantastic in all 4 games, Jack Morris made some great diving saves in goal, with Mark and Calum doing very well in defence before moving to the forwards, Kyle kept things tight around midfield with his excellent striking and allowed Aoife and Patrick to move forward to help the forwards, Sam and Shauna to score goals, Patrick proved to be a real goal poacher with Sam, Calum and Aoife also getting on the score sheet. Well done to all. Aughrim were overall victors.

On Saturday 25th we have an U-10 hurling blitz and the following Saturday we have an U-12 hurling blitz. All games start at 10.00am.
