Volunteer Clean Up Avoca
There will be a cleanup of the Avoca area on Saturday 30th June. This is the last clean up before the president’s visit so we would like as many volunteers as possible to attend. Meeting place is at the church car park at 10.00am. Please bring sweeping brushes, paint brushes and rollers etc.


Conary Community Arts

Avoca annual outing 2012 to Donegal coach departing 9am sharp from top of Station Road, Avoca on 29th June 2012.

Active Retirement
The following activities take place each week in the Community Hall, Avoca.

Monday: Patchwork Quilting 7pm - 9pm.
Tuesday: Art Group 12.45pm - 3.30pm
Thursday: Art Group 10am - 12.30
Friday: Basic French 1pm - 2pm / Line Dancing 2.15pm - 3.15pm / Indoor Bowls 8pm - 10.30pm
Sunday: Tea/coffee - Chat - Board games/cards 11.45am - 1pm.

A series of "Talks" is being planned to take place during the next few months. Details to be announced later. There are also "Outings" to various locations and events throughout the year. Tea dances are held on various Sundays in the Community Hall.

Avoca IT Centre
Do you want to learn how to shop on line, set your own email address up and send emails or just want to keep account of your weekly spending using Microsoft Excel.

Then why not drop into the IT Centre and enquire about our classes. Come along and familiarize yourself with computers in a relaxed atmosphere. We are now holding social media classes for anyone that has never used a computer before, these classes are run for 5 weeks and overall cost is €10.

Other courses we provide are Beginners and FETAC Level 4 Information Technology Skills and of course we can tailor a course to suit your requirements, we also provide a typing, fax and photocopying service, just pop in and have a chat or call us on 0402 35022.


Red Kite Walk
Avoca Tidy Towns/VADA plans are well underway for the development of the Forestry area in the Kilmagig Woods which over look Avoca Village and there will be 3 walks developed along with some information/educational boards at the entrances.

One of the walks will be The Red Kite Walk and we are open to suggestions for the naming of the other 2 walks, one will be a Loop Walk & the other a Linear Walk to Ballinvalley, please send your suggestions to vadaavoca@yahoo.ie or drop your suggestions into the IT Centre in an envelope.

Moores Park at Meeting of the Waters
Work is to start shortly on the restoration of the park and erection of Moores Tree along with a complete landscape of the park. Funding is by grant aid drawn down under VADA with lots of volunteer work and supported by Wicklow Rural partnership.
