Kilcoole's Britton to Run at National and European Championships

Wicklow’s Britton Set to Run at National and European Championships
A number of Ireland’s top athletes will be competing at The Woodie’s DIY Senior Track and Field Championships of Ireland on the 7th and 8th of July in Morton Stadium, Santry. It promises to deliver some exciting races with many of Ireland’s London bound Olympians in action and it will be the last chance for athletes to achieve Olympic qualification times.
Reigning European Cross Country Champion Fionnuala Britton (Kilcoole AC) has already impressively achieved the Olympic qualifying times for the 5000m, 10,000m and the 3000m steeplechase and is set to compete in the 1500m at the National Championships. Britton will face opposition from her fellow county woman Stephanie Reilly (Sli Chulainn AC) who also has the Olympic standard in the 3000m steeplechase.
Prior to the Nationals, both Wicklow women are Finland bound where they will compete at the European Track and Field Championships in Helsinki, Britton in the 5000m and Reilly in the 3000m steeplechase.
