At the begining of June Wicklownews.net brought you the story of Steve O'Connor who was walking around the coast of Ireland with his horse Jessica to highlight suicide awareness, it has been one of our most read articles and has reached every corner of the globe. Read the artice here

So here is an update which we received from John Thompson in County Antrim this morning.

Steve is now in County Antrim. He spent the last two nights in Islandmagee on the East Antrim Coast a peninsula with a seventeen mile coastal route.

When I spoke to Steve last night he said since he had decided to walk the coast of Ireland he could not miss out the peninsula.

He is enjoying the hospitality afforded to him by the locals. Jessica had to have her shoes repaired by the local blacksmith.

Steve is now heading to Glenarm the first of the Glens of Antrim and I have told him he can expect great hospitality there and in all the Glens.

Steve and Jess are staying the night in Dunseverick just outside Bushmills. We passed him on the road and stopped to chat. We told him where he could pitch his tent with plenty of grazing for Jess. As a wee treat for her we brought her a bucket of 'coolmix' - horsey food lol with carrots and apples. It was an amazing humbling experience to meet him. We wish them both good luck and health for the rest of the trek.
