Adam Nolan takes a break during training in Bray
Bray based garda Adam Nolan has won his first fight in the London Olympics against Carlos Sanchez.
Nolan won the first round 6-3, in the second round he looked comfortable winning 5-3 but Sanchez made a fight of it in the third round.
Sanchez knew he was in trouble and went all out but the judges gave the round to Nolan by 3 points to two giving Nolan a winning total of 14-8.
Well done Adam from all in Wicklow.
Nolan will be back in the ring on Friday night when he faces Andrey Zamkovoy of Russia for a place in the quarter-finals. Zamkovoy beat Qiong Mai Maitituersun of China 16-11 tonight.
