Gardai are investigating a robbery at one of Wicklow's most popular hotel's last Monday night.

4 robbers entered the storage area of the Glendalough hotel and stole a substantial amount of food stock.

The raiders entered a side entrance to the storage area on the grounds of the hotel at around 8.25pm and spent up to five minutes filling a car that was parked in the front car park, a woman stood at the gate as a lookout while a man wearing sunglasses and two youths stole stock including frozen food and tinned products.

It is believed they used a Black Mitsubishi Space Wagon.

If you noticed anyting in the area or are able to help Gardai with their enquires call Roundwood garda station on 01 281 8142.

Also people in the Greystones/Kilcoole area are urged to keep an eye out for a light Silvery/Blue saloon car that has been stalking houses in the area over the last week.

T.D Simon Harris attended a meeting of the Greystones Joint Policing Committee this week and said "Unfortunately there has been an increase in burgularies this year compared to the same period last year in the Greystones area. From the 1st January 2011 to the 31st May 2011 there were 92 burgularies in Greystones. For the same period this year, there has been 101 burgularies.

The Gardai at the meeting outlined their plans to increase the number of burgulary patrols in Greystones. I would encourage people to be safety-conscious about locking doors when they go out, not leaving windows open, etc.
