Body recovered in serch for missing man at Avoca river.

Ambulance services and gardai at the Meetings of the Water, Avoca this afternoon

The body of a man in his 70's has been recovered from the Avoca river at Castlemacadam.

It is understood the man fell into the river at the meetings of the water just before one o'clock on Saturday.

The coastguard helicopter carried out a search of the river and located the man an hour later.

The river was in full flood following heavy rain overnight.
