Ciaran Jones Golf Classic
Kilbride GAA Club hosted the Ciarán Jones Golf Classic in Tulfarris Hotel and Golf Club on Saturday. The golf was followed by a social night at the Avon Ri, Blessington for presentations and entertainment.
A raffle and auction was also held on the night with auctioneer Mick O'Rourke selling many items including a Dublin jersey signed by the All-Ireland winning team, Leinster jersey signed by Rob Kearney and Dartboard signed by Phil Taylor.
The main item of the auction was however a 'Big Dog' golf driver donated by the Jones Family. The driver was a family present for Ciaran's birthday but unfortunately he never received it due to his tragic death days before his birthday. Shane Kelly the current captain of Kilbride was the successful bidder.
All monies raised on the night went to Blessington Rescue Boat and to Playing for Life www.playingforlife.ie which is a charity that Ciarán had great admiration for and had planned on working with.
