Katie Taylor announced "Rehab" Sports person of the year

Katie Taylor has been announced the RTE, Rehab sports person of the year.

The Bray native who looked stunning in a red halter neck evening dress recieved her award from Taoiseach Enda Kenny.

Kenny said of the Olympic gold winner "It's not everyday someone injects pure joy into the veins of a nation, last month in London with her brillance her skill, her passion for what she does."

"She showed the world that it is true what they say at their best, "You will never beat the Irish" for being such a wonderful role model and being an insipiration, for bringing such honour to our country."

"She is a champion and she has lived her dream."
