Bray Fire fighters held a public remembrance ceremony this morning (Wednesday) to mark the 5th anniversary of the deaths of their fire fighting colleagues Brian Murray and Mark O Shaughnessey.

Both men died in the line of duty while tackling a blaze at a disused factory at Adlaide Villas in Bray on the 26th of September in 2007.

Hazel O'Brien, Mary Murray, Jack O'Neill and station officer Dave Gallagher all spoke at ceremony while Brian Murray Jnr and Stuart Grant laid wreaths.

Fire Fighters from Wicklow and Dublin held a wreath laying ceremony at the site of the tragedy at 9 o’clock this morning, followed by a Remembrance Mass at 10 o’clock at the church of Our Lady Queen Of Peace on Putland Road.
